Want a Drink?
by Dr. David Williams

It has been reported for years that a glass of red wine a day will lower your risk of suffering from cardiovascular disease.

Recent research has shown that this can be attributed to the flavonoids in the skin of the red grape.

These are antioxidants that help lower LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) and boost your levels of HDLs (good cholesterol).

There is also evidence that flavonoids help keep blood vessels dilated and stop red blood cells from clumping together, thus diminishing the risks of cardiovascular disease.

Red wine seems to be better than white wine at improving heart health, but it may be just as healthy to eat a handful of red grapes.
