DR. DAVE'S FITNESS FACTS

Are Carbohydrates Bad?
by Dr. David Williams

The answer is yes and no. There are two types of carbohydrates.

Simple carbohydrates are also called simple sugars (cola, candy, sweets, fruit loops, etc.) and are bad for you. They have no nutritional value and if you eat too many, they will be stored as body fat.

Complex carbohydrates are vegetables, whole grains, and most fruit. They provide beneficial fiber, antioxidants and vitamins, and should be eaten daily.

Try to eat a variety of complex carbohydrates and avoid simple carbs.
