An Apple A Day?

Your mom may have been right when she said "An apple a day keeps the doctor away."

Recent research has demonstrated the health benefits of apples.

The skin of an apple contains a substance called quercetin, which is a known antioxidant (cancer fighter). There is also a link between quercetin and the prevention of Alzheimer's disease.

In addition, apples contain high levels of vitamins, are low in calories and are high in fiber. Foods high in fiber increase gastric motility and help stave off colon cancer.

A good way to lose weight is to eat a small apple before every meal.   The apple will fill you up so that you will eat less food at each meal.
