How To Stretch

Flexibility training is one of the most neglected parts of a fitness program.

Important points to remember are:

  • Don't bounce — stretches should be slow and static
  • Hold each stretch a minimum of 10 - 30 seconds
  • Stretch opposing muscle groups to avoid muscle imbalances
  • Try to relax your whole body while stretching
  • Stretch before and after a workout      
  • Try to stretch daily
